A few days ago, WhatsApp was spotted testing playback speeds for voice messages. Now a report has stated that the instant chatting service is testing three different playback speeds for voice messages. This is one of the many features that WhatsApp is working on. The feature is under development and not ready for a stable rollout.
What is Whatsapp doing here?
As per Wabetainfo, the app was spotted testing three different playback speeds for voice messages. This means that now you can rush through the voice messages to save your time.
“WhatsApp will allow changing the playback speed simply tapping the speed label: 1.0X, 1.5X and 2.0X are the available options. WhatsApp would also support lower playback speeds, but they won’t be released for the public because they make less sense. This feature is under development and it will be available for both iOS and Android beta builds in the next few weeks: stay tuned!”
This feature is already available in the Facebook-owned company’s rival app Telegram. Once this feature is rolled out, users will get three playback speed options including 1.0X, 1.5X and 2.0X. The feature would get activated automatically when you receive a voice message, you can then choose from the options to increase the speed of the message.
If this feature gets rolled down WhatsApp would come to a step closer to the updated rival app Telegram in terms of features. Exactly what playback speeds will the chat service offer will be known soon after the update is published.
