Micromax 2020 massive comeback, an interesting challenge to Chinese giants

Flashback and let’s go back to the year 2014. The year is 2014 when Micromax was the leader of the Indian smartphone markets. Not just the leader but it was the king of its time.  It was a brand that once enjoyed an indisputable commanding position in the Indian phone industry, as in August 2014, it was India’s biggest mobile phone brand and the tenth-largest supplier of mobile phones in the world. Micromax was the leader in India till the era of 2G and 3G network and till the time when Chinese makers didn’t sweep the Indian smartphone markets.

Atmanirbhar Bharat

Boom its 2020 and the country is in the sways of Atmanirbhar Bharat when the political winds are all supportive of Make in India. In a video message dated 16th October, 2020 Rahul Sharma the co-founder of Micromax announced that Micromax will be coming back to the Indian markets with Micromax ‘IN’ series. Rahul Sharma appealed to the Indian audience that now to compete with the Chinese giants an Indian Boy would rise again. Rahul Sharma also touched the topic of Nationalism in his video message talking about the Chinese standoff that Indian Army had at the Galwan Valley. 

Rumours Specifications

The launch dates of the device are not out yet, but there have been reports of some leak about the specifications of the device. The device is speculated to come into variants of 2GB and 3GB RAM, the processors of the phone are going to be Mediatek Helio G35 and G85 which are primarily the gaming processors and said to work for the gaming enthusiasts. The price range is said to be between 7000-25000 rupees and packed with stock android experience for the users. There is no news yet about the camera setup but the battery would be loaded with a 5000 mAh power. 

There is a lot of speculations about the device re-entering the markets and what impact will it have on the competition in India. Coming back and again making a place into the Indian market would be a tough job for Micromax but you never know. Competing in the budget segments phone which is dominated by brands like Realme, Xiaomi and Samsung G series will be something interesting to watch.
